MARLIN
The Canaries is considered one of the best locations in the world to find an abundance of large big game species
The Canaries is be considered one of the best locations in the world to find an abundance of large big game species. It is a great place whether there is a good possibility to catch, blue marlin, white marlin or spearfish.
Big game fishing requires patience. After one wait suddenly the line tightens and the Shimano reel screams. Blue marlin is there. The duel begins between the man and the fish. Sensations and adrenalin are there.
Marlin season is from mid May to early September when the sea water temperatures are at their highest. There may still be plenty of other big pelagic fish to target.
Marlin usually appears in the Canaries when the temperature of the water is 22⁰ C. Although most fish average around 500 lbs there is always the chance to see a fish of 1000 lbs+ which is known as a ‘grander’.
In the Canaries, the crown jewel for Marlin fishing is La Gomera. Two blue marlin line-class records from Gomera still stand today: The 6-pound men’s record is held by Gary Carter, with his 357-pounder caught on June 4, 2008, and the 8-pound men’s record belongs to Stewart Campbell. Thanks to a marlin caught six years earlier to the day on June 4, 2002, weighing 562 pounds.
La Gomera can be booked in advance!

Blue fin & Tuna
The giant bluefin season is an emerging and interesting fishery
The giant bluefin season is an emerging and interesting fishery. These are not mediums — they are true giants migrating north toward the Mediterranean or Scotland, Norway or even Canada an route to their summer feeding grounds. The large schools of mackerel and smaller baitfish attract the giants and create opportunities for sport fishermen to present baits to the bluefin.
Tenerife is one of the best spots of the world to catch the Giagant blue fin tuna. Season normally starts on December and ends on April.
This super strong and highly migratory fish is also frequently seen and captured in the Canaries. There are several tunas living all year around from skipkacks, yellow fin, big eye & the giagiant blue fin.
Depending on the season you are trying to book. You can catch different types of tunas.
*Catch & release will be applied on every blue fin catch.

SAVE THE OCEAN
Sustainable navigation
Fishing Charter Tenerife focuses its future towards sustainability, linking all its actions and activities to the values of solidarity and excellence, fighting at the same time for the conservation of the surroundings, the environment and the marine world, being a facilitator of good practices for a sustainable world.
The ocean drives the global systems that make the Earth a habitable place for humans. Our rain, drinking water, weather, climate, coastlines, much of our food and even the oxygen in the air we breathe are provided and regulated by the sea.
Careful management of this essential global resource is a key feature of a sustainable future. However, at present, there is a continuous deterioration of coastal waters due to pollution and ocean acidification that is having an adverse effect on the functioning of ecosystems and biodiversity. Likewise, it is also having a detrimental impact on small-scale fisheries.
Protecting our oceans must remain a priority. Marine biodiversity is vital for the health of people and our planet. Marine Protected Areas must be managed effectively, as well as their resources, and regulations must be put in place to reduce overfishing, marine pollution and ocean acidification.
